Acupuncture is one of the oldest, most widely used medical practices in the world. Originating in China over 2,000 years ago, it is a safe and effective medical treatment that promotes natural healing of the body.
Acupuncture is performed by inserting fine, sterile needles into the skin at specific points to channel the patient’s flow of vital energy (Qi). The points are chosen for each individual based on symptoms presented, constitution, and health history. The insertion and skillful manipulation of the needles rebalances the active and passive aspects of the body and promotes healing.
